Academic Summary

 

An academic paper titled ‘endpoint security: an overview and a look into the future’ written by ‘Sam Slate 2018’ demonstrates the importance of endpoint security and why it is needed in the modern world. The author goes on to explain that for a company to ensure the security of all the devices that are connected to it, it should use an endpoint security system. For this reason, it is bound for companies to go through trade-offs. In addition, it states some difficulties around this topic, such as the number of endpoint devices that need security. Moreover, the paper shows some strategies, such as behavioural and technical strategies. Furthermore, the paper suggests using AI and the cloud to discover threats early, as companies mainly use the cloud to share data. In conclusion, cyber threats will continue to appear, which is why endpoint security is essential to ensure the safety of devices.
